The Darlingtonia Bog
( Part 4 )

These plants were just gorgeous. Yes, this clump was growing wild. It almost looks cultivated, it's so pretty.
The VFTs out there were all pretty big! I guess they like the environment!
How many species of Carnivorous Plant can you count in this photo? (The big purple one on the left side of the photo is Matt - he doesn't count.) There are at least five, but you probably can't see the D.rotundifolia, D.capensis or VFT that were in this spot. You can spot the Darlingtonia and a small clump of S.leucophylla, though.
There were some pygmy Drosera planted in another area of the bog by themselves. I'm pretty sure this is D.nitidula ssp. omissa.
Drosera aliciae also got planted in its own section of the bog. You can see the big shovel scoop on the right of the photo - evidence of someone who wanted to have an instant. D.aliciae collection.
This was a very pretty hybrid Sarracenia that we ran across. It's obviously got S.purpurea in it, but I don't know what else - at least S.leucophylla and S.rubra were also growing nearby for natural hybridization. (Or it may have been planted.)
