They're not the best pictures, since I took them without flash (otherwise you'd just see a big flare against the side of the tank) and the ones of the plants in the tank have a greenish tint from the glass.

This is the tank that the plants are in. (Of course, they weren't in it when I took this picture.) It's a 55 gallon aquarium with a couple of 48" flourescent light fixtures. I've also put aluminum foil along the back to reflect more light inside. The plants love it in there. |

Here is the right half of the terrarium. In back are two Dionaea. Just in front of them is the Drosera binata (he has no traps right now) and a little clump of Drosera spatulata. In front are the Drosera filiformis and Drosera adelai. |
This is a sort of fuzzy closeup of the Drosera adelai. It's actually about a dozen plants in a little clump. I've since separated them and re-planted them individually. |
A closeup of one of the leaves on the Drosera filiformis. This little guy (Well, not really so little, each leaf is growing out about a foot or more) is growing like a weed. (At least six new leaves since I planted him two weeks ago!) |
In front is my Pinguicula caerulea, behind and to the left is the Sarracenia gillipini hybrid. (I'm not big into Sarracenia, but this guy is really cool.) In back is the P. primuliflora. The two P. have sent out three or four new leaves already, and I've already taken three new plantlets from the P.primuliflora. |
This is the Nepenthes hiberdii that I bought. He's (Or she's) a really cool plant. The traps last forever and this one already has sent out three new leaves in the last two weeks! (I must be doing something right.) |
Here is a kind of hard-to-see shot of all the Nepenthes in the terrarium. From left to right, N.holland hybrid, N.sanguinea, N.mirabilis, and under the fern is the N.gracilis. All are doing well, although the N.holland is a slow grower.
The white cord is the sensor for a little $10 indoor/outdoor thermometer I bought. It stays about 81-82 degrees with the lights on, 76-78 with them off, and always probably close to 100% humidity. |
